Agriculture & Ecology
Our team at Canbean has responded to the need to address the areas of agriculture development, agro-forestry and landscape ecology as a single interrelated area of work. We see this as an area in environmental management where critical disciplines can intersect to produce solutions for bio-diversity conversation, food security and employment generation for local communities, simultaneously.
Our skills in the areas of agriculture development, natural heritage preservation and landscape ecology buttress our drive to find balance between the natural world and the intensive scale of activities to feed people. Our work and expertise in this area are not limited to addressing the needs for projects at terrestrial sites. We also provide services and project development and monitoring functions in the area of marine ecology. Our multidisciplinary out-look on projects with our clients has led us to work with farmers, fisher folk, forestry conservation authorities and wild life experts to address water shed management, habitat fragmentation and soil and water pollution. Despite being singled out as its own “area of work” here, these issues all correlate with environmental planning and management, which remains a higher level project development function of our team.
